Lehrte, 05.04.2023 - At the Hannover Messe 2023, Götting KG will be exhibiting a teleoperation control station in Hall 14 (H06/49). Visitors can use the control stand to remotely operate a forklift truck located in an open-air area in front of Hall 14. Data transmission to and from the vehicle, including video data, is via the 5G network of Deutsche Messe AG.

On the one hand, the technology of Götting KG allows the use of a tablet on which, in addition to the video image from the forklift truck, all relevant information on speed, battery charge status or lifting height of the fork is displayed. Digital joysticks and interactive buttons are available for remote control of the forklift. This application can be seen in the following YouTube video created by Deutsche Messe AG. The video demonstrates how a driver unloads his truck himself via a tablet without sitting in the forklift.

On site at the Hannover Messe, an alternative option will be shown, in which the teleoperation control station consists of several screens. Here, the forklift truck is remote-controlled via a steering wheel, pedals and joysticks like those used by computer gamers. They provide the "driver" with the input devices that he would also find in the forklift truck.

On the open-air area, a pallet is available, which visitors can pick up and transport with the forklift truck via the control station. The additional screens (compared to a tablet) allow several camera images to be displayed simultaneously, which gives inexperienced operators in particular a better overview and enables more precise handling of the goods being transported.
