The Innovation Award was presented for the E-Check project. The DB press release states (translation provided by Götting): "The tech provider Gestalt Robotics and the mechanical engineering company Strama-MPS, together with Götting KG, developed the E-Check for automated train maintenance. For this, high-resolution cameras and sensors scan the train and analyze its condition with the help of artificial intelligence. The employees at the E-Check track thus learn quickly and precisely where action is needed. The automated process facilitates maintenance and ensures that our trains are back in service faster."
