Environment detection with stationary sensors

Driverless and accident free — safe autonomous logistics and transport vehicles are the goal of the joint project SaLsA, where Götting is the coordinator. In order to enhance the conventional safety concept the data of the vehicle sensors is combined with stationary sensors using a sensor fusion.

The stationary sensors send there data to the vehicle that then can adjust its speed or avoids obstacles. This enables the fast and safe collective operation of driverless vehicles in a working environment with external traffic outside of production halls and depots.
