RDS Control Help
Coder Panel
This surface simulates the switches and controllers of the Coder front panel. It is possible to operate the level dials by mouse directly, by a numerical entry or by arrow keys. Control the switches with the left mouse button. The running program will be displayed above the program selection switches. Below the BK switch you can choose the range identification (A…F). If there had been any hardware operation at the Coder in the meantime, the modified status can be called by Coder > Get State or [F5].Edit Programs
This tab opens up all kind of options to compile components for programming and subsequently save them in the Coder. The list on the right side displays the Coder memory contents, on the left side the content of the local database will be displayed (recorded in file "Data.xml" located in the start up directory of the application).
The running program will be displayed in red in the Coder’s program list. Empty program slots are highlighted in grey. You can edit all existent programs with Edit or delete them with Remove. Start or stop a program by double clicking or applying Run or Stop. Export saves each program (each slot allocation) as a * KMD file in the selected directory. If the Coder detects a *.KMD file on an inserted SD card, the program data will be transferred to the Coder’s memory.
Here you can create, process and delete RDS groups. Each group consists of at least one component, according to the type of the group up to 999 components are possible. Edit calls the data entry mask for the marked group in the list. Add creates new groups in the same way. The group list displays the type of group and the number of components for the current selection. For further information concerning RDS groups please take a look at the official RDS Standard.
Menu Bar
Menu entry File includes sub items for loading and storing of the local XML database. Coder > Connect will connect the software with the Coder. You may choose a COM port from the combo box above. There are only available ports listed in this box. Break the Coder connection with Coder > Disconnect. You will find a short description on Coder > Get State in the upper part of section "Coder Panel". If Coder > Reset is activated the internal program memory will be reset – all programs set up by the user will be deleted! Menu item Coder > Firmware Update updates the firmware of the Coder. The precondition is a valid *H86- file. For an update please follow the instructions of the program.
